The FML Nadi Branch celebrated a night of triumph and pride yesterday after their dominant performance winning Fiji Muslim Sports Association Tebara Hardware Futsal IDC, securing a clean sweep of the top honors. The celebrations were marked with joy and recognition, with Mohammed Salim winning the prestigious Golden Boot and Golden Ball awards for his outstanding goal-scoring and overall performance. Naved won the Golden Glove for his superb goalkeeping, and Haji Nahid Khan, the mastermind behind the team’s success, as Best Manager.
In his congratulatory speech, FML Nadi Branch President Haji Abdul Afiz applauded the team for their dedication and exceptional performance, which has brought great honor to the Branch. He praised the players and management for their relentless efforts and commitment to excellence, which led to this remarkable victory.
Team Manager Haji Nahid took the opportunity to thank the coach, sponsors, and well-wishers for their unwavering support, without which this success would not have been possible.
National President Haji Javed Ahmed in his keynote address extended his heartfelt congratulations to FML Nadi, acknowledging their hard work and resilience. He highlighted the significant role played by the new Nadi Muslim College Futsal Turf, which has been instrumental in honing the skills of the players, and the FMSA Futsal Regional League, which provided the team with a competitive platform to develop and showcase their talents.
Haji Javed also shared exciting future plans, including the 2024 Futsal Regional League and also plans to introduce the Futsal International Club Championship (ICC), which will be hosted by FMSA next year Insha Allah with clubs from New Zealand, Australia, Canada USA invited. These initiatives will further strengthen the platform for Futsal for FMSA offering FML Branches more opportunities to compete against international teams from FANCA affiliates in these Countries.
The evening concluded with the players, management, and sponsors honored with plaques and certificates as tokens of appreciation for their contributions to the team’s success. It was a night filled with pride, celebration, and a renewed commitment to excellence as FML Nadi Branch continues to raise the bar in both the codes with FMSA.
FML Nadi Branch added the Futsal IDC Trophy to the Muslim IDC won earlier this year in Lautoka’s to add to the collection cementing our position as the dominant Branch within FMSA.
